The composer behind RX 100's arresting score and the creative force of Wolfgang Studios — Smaran writes music that feels like memory.
Smaran — known professionally as Smaran Sai — is a music composer and singer who has quietly built one of the most distinctive catalogues in contemporary Telugu independent cinema. Born and raised in Barkatpura, Hyderabad, he began performing at local venues as a teenager before finding his voice in the overlap between film scoring and indie music.
He made his feature debut with Ajay Bhupathi's RX 100 (2018) — a film whose raw energy demanded an equally raw score. Smaran delivered, and the industry noticed. He went on to score the AHA web series Kotha Poradu (dir. Anvesh Michael), Pressure Cooker, Boys, Pachchis, and most recently Psych Siddhartha (2026).
In 2019, he founded Wolfgang Studios in Barkatpura — a studio-cum-record label named in honour of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, his greatest musical influence. The studio has since become a creative home for some of Hyderabad's most interesting new voices.
His collaboration with Avanti Cinema's Story Discussion and his contribution to Gopi Galla Goa Trip (singing 'Kaaka Regina Daahalu') reflect an artist who moves fluidly between the indie and mainstream worlds. MC Joint represents Smaran for talent bookings, project collaborations, and public engagements.
