Keshava. Two words and a Rayalaseema dialect that brought down cinema halls across India. Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari started from zero and found himself in one of the biggest films in Indian history.
Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari was born on 18 January 1993 in Warangal, Telangana. Before stepping in front of a camera, he worked as a sales executive selling food items at theatres near his hometown — the same kind of theatres that would one day screen his films to packed houses.
He moved to Hyderabad with nothing but ambition, attending short film screenings at Prasad Labs until Avanti Cinema spotted him for Nirudyoga Natulu (2018). It was here, on the floor of MC Joint's extended creative family, that his career began. He followed it with a scene-stealing role in Raj Rachakonda's Mallesham (2019), then George Reddy (2019) and Palasa 1978 (2020).
Then came Pushpa: The Rise (2021). His portrayal of Keshava — loyal, raw, speaking in a thick Rayalaseema dialect — became one of the most talked-about supporting performances in recent Telugu cinema. He reprised the role in Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024), a film that broke every box office record in Indian cinema history.
Beyond Pushpa, his portfolio includes Sita Ramam, 18 Pages, Butta Bomma, Michael, Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu, Ambajipeta Marriage Band, and Matka. He also appeared in Kotha Poradu (AHA, 2020) as Addagutta Mallesh — a full-circle moment with the Avanti Cinema family that gave him his start.
